About Us

Our History

Prior to 1967, no AGC Building Chapter had an office in Austin responsible for representing the building construction industry and its interests. In the summer of 1967, the Houston Chapter opened a small office in Austin, headed by E. Wayne Hall, to observe the state legislature and agencies that either governed contractors or construction programs.

In the early 1970’s, members of various chapters began to meet with Houston Chapter officers to determine the feasibility of establishing a statewide organization that could coordinate governmental activities for the other building chapters.

Legal Affairs

AGC-TBB’s Legal Affairs Committee analyzes whether AGC-TBB should participate in legal actions on issues affecting the construction industry, almost always in the form of filing an amicus brief. The Legal Affairs Committee makes amicus recommendations, which are ultimately decided by the AGC-TBB Executive Committee.

Executive Assistant / Office Manager

Pauline Preston

Pauline is AGC-TBB Office Manager & Admin to the Assoc. President. Her professional voyage led to AGC-TBB in 2018. With a robust background in non-profit organizations since 2007 and a focus on trade associations since 2015, Pauline brings a wealth of experience over many areas to the table.

Originally hailing from the sun-kissed land of Australia, Pauline officially became a proud U.S. citizen in June 2021, adding a new chapter to her journey.

On the personal front, Pauline is a mother of two wonderful grown daughters, one of whom recently was married. Family holds a special place in Pauline’s heart, and she cherishes time, and sharing experiences with her family, and close circle of friends.
